Digital Marketing Assistant, Marketing Strategy

Hachette Book Group's Executive Marketing Strategy department is seeking a Digital Marketing Assistant to develop content for Novel Suspects and Hachette Book Group’s direct-to-consumer channels.

The Digital Marketing Assistant will be responsible for daily marketing activities, including social media content creation and community management for the Novel Suspects accounts, as well as website content curation and site updates. This is a role within our central marketing strategy group, so the Assistant will also be responsible for coordination with different departments across Hachette Book Group in support of our imprint teams.

This position reports to the Assistant Marketing Director in Hachette Book Group's Executive Marketing Strategy department.

The Essential Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Include

  • Creating and curating social media content and engaging with readers on Novel Suspects’ Threads, X (aka Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook channels
  • Community management of Novel Suspects digital platforms
  • Uploading content and updating landing pages on the Novel Suspects and Hachette websites
  • Track and analyze digital content performance across Novel Suspect’s social channels
  • Support the Novel Suspects team in managing the Insider’s Club ambassador program
  • Manage seasonal marketing campaigns as a member of the central marketing team
  • General administrative support, including creating decks/reports, submitting invoices, scheduling meetings, etc.

  • Superb organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Able to adapt quickly and keep up to date on the latest digital trends
  • A great communicator who can collaborate with multiple teams
  • Proactive and capable of taking ownership of projects

The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience With

  • 1-2 years minimum experience in marketing required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with Emplifi, Canva, Notion, and WordPress (or similar tools), is preferred
  • Knowledge of various social media platforms, including TikTok, X (aka Twitter), Threads, Facebook, and Instagram)
  • Have an instinct for taking “Instagrammable” lifestyle photos/videos, and writing compelling copy
  • Experience in video editing and creation for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels
  • Understanding of social media analytics is preferred

The compensation for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
