Digital Marketing Manager

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Digital Marketing Manager role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners and agencies to develop and execute a direct-to-consumer digital marketing strategy. The role will be responsible for driving growth, managing spend budgets, tracking performance, and being a thought leader in digital marketing acquisition.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Execute strategy for direct-to-consumer digital acquisition channels – including close partnership with partners and agencies to ensure both delivery and optimization against budgets and target acquisition goals
  • Work with IT and analytics teams within Pets Best and the broader organization to ensure campaign tracking is optimized for segmentation, audiences, and journey analytics
  • Own budget and spend across all assigned channels – work closely with Finance to process payments and reconcile spend
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, and an ability to know how to translate these into effective copy and creative
  • Work to ensure that all media buys (programmatic, social, premium, affiliate and direct) align with broader business objectives
  • Create test summaries that capture learnings and best practices to optimize messaging across various customer segments
  • Serve as subject matter expert in use of digital tools to gain audience insights and personalize acquisitions experience
  • Partner with digital product team to align on-site experience with acquisitions strategy
  • Develop and present at regular business reviews and planning meetings


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of degree, GED and 7+ years marketing experience in the ecommerce, insurance, or financial services industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing multi-channel digital strategy, including affiliate, paid search, paid social, display, and programmatic media – either in an agency or for a consumer brand to include:
  • 2+ years of experience in vendor/project management
  • Experience owning marketing budget, with prior accountability for large scale performance marketing campaigns


Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA preferred
  • Prior experience managing digital media agencies, and affiliate marketing partnerships
  • Experience in marketing insurance products through digital distribution channels
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Prior experience working with digital measurement tools such as Google Analytics, and affiliate management tools such as Impact Radius or Tune
  • Strong understanding of technical requirements, including tracking pixels, data integrations, etc. as it applies to paid media capabilities
  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, with ability to influence across cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated project management skills. Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Strong PC proficiency (MS Office Suite) or comparable software applications
