Responsibilities

The role of the Director of Brand Campaigns and Animations is to lead a team responsible for advancing brand awareness, equity, and recruitment via:

  • All NYX Professional makeup’s US brand collaborations and partnerships – including assortment, pricing, and sizing recommendations, activation planning, and defining go to market approach.
  • All NYX Professional makeup’s Brand Moments like Halloween, Back to School, and Holiday.
  • All Brand marketing initiatives that foster brand values with our beauty-adjacent consumers and affinity cohorts like Pride, Sports, and Gaming.
  • All NYX Professional makeup’s brand conquest territories and new forms of activation including scouting culturally relevant local partners, guerilla marketing initiatives, and disruptive content integrations.

This role will ensure that we create industry-shaping and breaking partnerships as well as culturally relevant marketing campaigns for our consumer and diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities

Defining Brand Campaigns and Animation strategy

  • Assess competition, consumer, and market to define the overall brand strategy for Collabs, Partnerships, and Animations including identifying priorities, calendar, and cadence.
  • Works closely with DMI/Global partners to understand global strategy, identify gaps, and adapt to US local market strategy and needs.
  • Follow Market trends to ensure that our partnerships, brand moments, and animations connect culturally with our target by being at the pulse of GenZ culture.
  • Work with key stakeholders to make sure we deliver authentic and diverse campaign activations.

Campaign management, collaboration, and scouting

  • Collaborates with DMI/Global partners, Category Brand Marketing team, and Business Development team to ensure Collabs/Partnership campaigns are properly planned, scoped, and executed.
  • Collects trends and actively seeks inspiration to guide decision making and keep team abreast of latest pop culture happenings.
  • Leverages relationships and actively networks to ensure NYX Professional makeup is front of mind for new brand partners and potential collaborators.
  • Manages internal relationships for Global partnerships to ensure US key strategic objectives/needs are met, as well as managing local partnerships negotiation/contract/processes.
  • Constantly seeks out local potential brand partners for collaboration and integrations that fit with the overarching brand mission and marketing strategy.

Collabs/Partnerships Assortment Strategy, Performance Tracking, and Best Practice Sharing

  • Identify right assortment, pricing, and sizing in partnership with Category Brand Marketing and Business Development team.
  • Track Collections in-store/online performance to ensure sell through goals are met.
  • Monitor and consolidate best practices and learnings across past/current partnerships.
  • Prepares marketing materials and storytelling to sell-in to retailers and define distribution strategy.

Campaign Advertising & Communication

  • Works closely with Creative team to bring visual merchandising, point of sale activation, and advertising assets to life.
  • Crafts language and adapts marketing messaging to ensure impactful language for the product innovation (collection) and campaign.
  • Develops relevant and breakthrough content plan – ensuring the right type of assets for the right platform, in collaboration with Social and Media team.

Key internal stakeholder management

  • Acts as the center-point for all Collabs/Partnerships, ensuring alignment and information flow amongst Global team and internal NYX US departments.
  • Works closely with Global partners, Category Marketing teams & Business Dev team to ensure a strong and smooth go to market plan for each Collab marketing campaign.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing
  • 10+ years of experience in the marketing field
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Highly knowledgeable and passionate about the beauty world and beauty trends
