Position Summary: SAI Advanced Power Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Excellence. This is a leadership position that must successfully implement and manage the SAI integrated Business and Quality management system, enabling tools and processes throughout the company and ensure compliance with all company, industry and regulatory requirements. Working with other functions and championing an environment of both transformation and continuous process improvement and help to create a competitive advantage through business and operational excellence. Drive the culture of customer success and build the best cycle time, quality, and cost performance.
Responsibilities
- Build strong working relationships with other functional leaders in the company, including those in engineering, customer support, order management, sales, marketing, project management, procurement, manufacturing, operations, operations support, services, IT, finance, and human resources to ensure organizational effectiveness and customer satisfaction
- Hire and develop department personnel, and provide timely feedback for performance reviews, promotions, and compensation adjustments. Mentor team and guide team members' goal development.
- Develop, implement, and maintain essential quality processes and document control systems
- Oversee, maintain, and improve the company’s Business Excellence organization and its Business and Quality Management System.
- Represent SAI as customer contact on all quality issues. Interact with Sales and customers on customer quality issues, specification alignment, and customer corrective actions.
- Audit existing and new process procedures for compliance and conduct process and safety inspection audits. Includes SAI’s 5S + safety institutionalization.
- Oversee / Champion companywide transformation and Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)
- Provide day-to-day direction to Business Excellence managers, supervisors, inspectors, safety, and document control personnel.
- Facilitate companywide implementation of corrective actions for process improvement. Responsible for the company’s Feedback system and process and for driving organizational responsive and preventive corrective actions.
- Partner with HR to establish and mature the company’s Performance Management Process including assessments, education, training (OJT), and associated KPIs.
- Provide supporting statistical data analysis expertise to support Business Units and Operations in cost-reduction projects and process improvements
- Demonstrate definitive, year-over-year, enhancement of SAI’s Business Management System
- Establish organizational goals that align with SAI goals. Mentor team and guide team members’ goal development.
- Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job with oversight of both West and East Campus Business Excellence personnel

· Incoming Quality Manager
· In Process Quality Manager
· Test - Outgoing Quality Manager
· Continuous Improvement Manager
Qualifications
· B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a minimum of 3-5 years of technical and business unit leadership
· 3-5 years of Business Excellence, Quality Management experience, in a Manufacturing or Engineering Services environment
