Job Summary

Responsible for elevating the department's brand through innovative and engaging video content. Enhances the visibility and reputation of KSU Athletics by producing high-quality videos that capture the spirit and achievements of its programs, athletes, and events. Strategically plans, executes, and oversees all video production efforts, ensuring alignment with the department's marketing and promotional goals. Foster collaboration, manage resources effectively, and stay ahead of industry trends to expand the reach and impact of KSU Athletics.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs and oversees the athletic department's creative video projects, including highlight reels, interviews, behind-the-scenes features, athlete profiles, and branded content, ensuring they align with departmental branding
  • Works with the department leaders to develop and implement a strategic video calendar
  • Produces engaging video content that positively highlights KSU programs and Athletics initiatives
  • Leads and directs creative shoots for video content creation
  • Manages and organizes databases of creative video assets
  • Researches digital advertising and media trends to find innovative video opportunities for revenue generation and external partnerships
  • Develops partnerships with campus communications, Van Wagner's KSU Athletic Sponsorship team, and CUSA members
  • Supervises and mentors assigned staff, including creative video students, ensuring the integration into the department's creative strategy
  • Assists in creating content for ESPN+ broadcasts and studio shows
  • Manages the budget for creative video projects
  • Publishes content on designated social media platforms
  • Expands the athletics brand and its reach through strategic use of creative video content
  • Collaborates with athletics and university departments, as well as external partners, to maximize opportunities related to creative video
  • Supports athletics NIL and individual recruiting efforts in compliance with NCAA and university guidelines and policies

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Media Production, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Other Required Qualifications

Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience

Four (4) years of relevant work experience in experience in video production, preferably within a collegiate athletics environment.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of and experience with creative software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Media Encoder, Lightroom, and Bridge

Demonstrated understanding of social media trends and analytics

Proven ability to create digital and social media campaigns aimed at increasing fan attendance and generating revenue

Proficiency in creating engaging motion graphics and animations to enhance video content and captivate the audience

Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) principles to optimize video content for discoverability and increased online visibility

Preferred Educational Qualifications

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience

Experience with web design, including proficiency in HTML and CSS

Able to perform detail-oriented work accurately and to communicate effectively with a diverse population

Able to learn new technologies and stay abreast of best practices in social media.

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills

Highly proficient design skills and ability to collaborate with creative teams in the department

Proficiency as a cinematographer in both studio and live sporting event settings along with creative lighting and studio setup

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder, Lightroom, Bridge, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects)

Strong attention to detail, especially in managing and labeling footage, and follow up skills

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
