You Will
Position Summary
The Director, Creative is a master storyteller and creative who excels at seeing the big picture and turning data and insights into creative campaigns and strategies that drive business results. Also comfortable rolling up their sleeves on the day-to-day work, they know how to clear and compelling briefs and work from one.
They are part strategist, part designer, and part creative dialed in to what will make creative and campaigns that will advance the Girl Scout brand in market. Day to day they will split time between hands on design and creative work, creative strategy and cross functional campaign development, and managing multiple simultaneous projects with freelancers and our agency .

Required Competencies
The Director, Design and Creative Direction will develop and execute creative projects across traditional and digital mediums, including but not limited to product design, experiential, mobile, digital and social media channels. They will provide leadership and convey a vision in line with the Girl Scouts mission and values to staff while maintaining a hands-on and flexible approach to managing deliverables and deadlines. Collaborates with Membership, Program, Corporate Affairs, Fund Development, Merchandising, Customer Service, and IT to help define both the brand story and the story as interpreted by the customer. Works cross functionally to take creative briefs and translate them into creative strategies and plans that advance the Girl Scout story in market and drive business results. A skilled hands-on creative with a strong design background, they must also be comfortable doing day-to-day creative work (design and video) where necessary. A strong portfolio of work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with a 35 hour per week schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $145,000
This represents the present low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

Essential Responsibilities
- Oversees the creative direction of projects, ensuring they align seamlessly with our brand's vision and objectives. This role involves translating our brand's vision and strategy into captivating visual concepts that resonate with our audience and bring our ideas to life.
- Hands-on creative work, including design, video, photography, and copywriting, to create and produce assets that meet our organization's needs. Direct and oversee projects and creative freelancers to execute successfully.
- Ensure all aspects of campaign creation and planning align with our organizational priorities. Design, manage, and execute the development of assets from initial sketches to final production, guiding the process to ensure that our campaigns are both effective and cohesive.
- Manage our creative vendors and freelance talent, leading and inspiring them to deliver innovative designs that meet our high standards. Foster strong relationships and clear communication, ensuring that our external partners consistently produce work that aligns with our creative vision.
- Provide approvals and advice to Girl Scout Councils, ensuring that all creative output remains consistent with our brand’s identity and messaging. This role involves overseeing the creative process to maintain alignment with our brand standards, helping councils effectively represent the Girl Scouts' mission.

- Strong graphic design skills
- Facility with video and copy
- Strong project management skills. Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects
- Expert translator between creatives and business
- Ability to manage agencies and freelancers
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to “sell” your idea to non-creatives
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Strong portfolio of work needed
- Office 365 or similar suites
- Competency in PowerPoint or similar presentation software
- Competency in Excel or similar software
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Fluency in Adobe Premiere
- Fluency in Canva
- Exceptional Graphic Design
- Video editing
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a corporate environment
