About This Job

Patra, a fast-paced, high-growth, global B2B insurance technology-enabled services organization, is in search of an experienced FP&A professional, who can manage, develop and scale its growing FP&A team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance, this is a highly visible role, which involves frequent collaboration with Patra’s senior executives, business unit leaders, and investors.

The role will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to the day-to-day performance of the global FP&A team and critical FP&A processes including forecasting, planning/budgeting, business unit reviews, business partnering and reporting. A player-coach, this individual will be expected to have a strong command over the financial and operational performance of the business and the ability to deliver timely, accurate insights to key internal and external stakeholders in a way that can help understand and improve business performance and support decision-making.

Responsibilities

Core Duties by Competency:

Knows the Business

    • Manage, refine and continuously improve Patra’s core FP&A processes globally:

      • Forecasting
      • planning/budgeting
      • reporting
      • business partnering
    • Along with other members of the FP&A team, become a trusted business partner for department leaders across the company.
    • Uncover and deliver insights into the business’ performance and make recommendations that lead to improved business outcomes.
    • Drive the FP&A operations in a way that is scalable and leverages best practices using modern tools/technology.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform financial planning and analysis.
Leads Others

    • Oversee the development of people, processes and systems of Patra’s global FP&A team. The ability to manage and lead a team with members across different time zones/geographies across the globe is an essential part of this role
    • Build relationships with business leadership teams to become a trusted finance partner to assist in accurate forecasting, strategic analysis, and ad-hoc analysis/reporting
Accountable

    • Own the development, preparation and ongoing refinement of monthly, quarterly financial and annual operating performance reports. Identify and present key findings, insights and narratives to key internal and external stakeholders in clear, concise and compelling ways.
    • Constantly drive process improvements and efficiencies in areas of financial planning, financial analysis, and production of reporting packages

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, complemented by extensive experience in FP&A or similar role(s).
    • Demonstrated excellence in financial data analysis and the creation of detailed financial models, reports and performance summaries.
    • Prior team/people leadership experience required.
    • Proven experience in owning and presenting financial performance information to varied stakeholders of an organization.
    • Highly competent working with financial planning tools and software.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and budgeting principles.
    • Proven proficiency in developing and reporting key metrics that drive business outcomes and the factors that influence them.
    • Highly organized, with a strong ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize deadlines.
    • Deeply analytical with exceptional communication/ presentation skills, intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset.
    • Demonstrated aptitude for management, team building, and coaching
