New York based $10 billion asset management firm seeks an IT Director. The IT Director will work closely with and report directly to the firm’s CAO; and will be responsible for ensuring that the firm receives the right levels of service from external service providers and key strategic partners.

The successful candidate in this role will play a key part in defining, shaping, and executing the technology strategy, and delivering the future of technology at the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison to external IT vendors, defining the right balance of internal and external support services. Develop an optimal partnership model that enables the business to continue to scale and enhance the capabilities of IT by leveraging a multitude of resources.
  • Ensure that the firm is receiving the right level of services at the right quality and price to support the needs of the business.
  • Measure and manage performance against business-driven SLAs/OLAs, and benchmark with industry peers
  • Perform regular service provider reviews, audits, and spot-checks, and manage contractual compliance
  • Act as the escalation point for all end-user-facing support issues and service provider issues
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of end-to-end processes across service providers


Requirements:

End user support:

In addition to vendors and external partners, IT Director will manage one internal Desktop Support Resource and will be the hands-on escalation point in day to day end user support in the following areas:

  • Desktop Support
  • Software and OS Patching
  • Remote access assistance
  • MDM support
  • Application support


Infrastructure management:

  • Manage on-prem as well as cloud environments
  • On-Prem infrastructure management such as maintenance, upgrade, troubleshooting of VMware infrastructure
  • Knowledge of both Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Knowledge of setting up gateways, express routes, etc.
  • Experience setting up site recovery and maintaining DR setup on Azure tenant.
  • Experience with Windows Server as well as Linux.
  • Understanding of container management.
  • Maintenance of Backups and testing validity at a regular cadence
  • Test and Maintain DR & BCP.
  • Maintain automation platforms (Jenkins, Github Actions, Teamcity, Octopus Deploy)
  • Manage new office buildouts


Cybersecurity and Compliance:

  • Work with MSSP and implement manage Cybersecurity program.
  • Respond to alerts and take necessary steps to avoid any cybersecurity related incident.
  • Refresh / Maintain policies such as “Written Information Security Policy”, “Acceptable Use Policy”, “BCP and DR Policy”, etc.
  • Conduct Quarterly Phishing tests and vulnerability assessments
  • Conduct annual penetration tests


Willingness to troubleshoot non-infrastructure related issues for developers, requiring an understanding of Python, database management

Keep abreast of IT trends and issues, including current and evolving technologies, monitoring the market landscape for critical systems to support business needs.

Familiarity and strong interest in Open AI Enterprise applications is a plus
