Team Overview

Enterprise Learning is responsible for building new capabilities critical to our firm's strategy at speed and scale, ensuring our 50,000 home-office associates and branch team members are reskilled and upskilled to deliver industry-leading Human-Centered Complete Wealth Management.

The Director: Learning and Performance Strategy is responsible for integrating and aligning learning and performance strategy with our firm's business and talent strategies. In this role, you will support the development of capabilities needed to transform our human-centered organization. You will execute on strategic priorities and lead cross-functional teams to deliver business impact through strategically sequenced, continuous learning and performance initiatives that optimize performance and sustain targeted behavior change.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and integrate Enterprise Learning long-term strategy and contribute to the establishment of the strategic direction of Enterprise Learning.
  • Lead a team of learning and performance professionals to deliver results (people and process leadership) via strategy, influence, prioritization, planning, and delivery of learning and performance experiences that improve overall firm performance
  • Develop people for greater contribution. Develop a team with the right skills and capabilities to execute the work through the creation of high impact, first quality learning experiences that deliver needed and sustained performance results at speed and scale
  • Collaborate with and leverage internal and external relationships to benchmark and ensure competitiveness by propelling our ability to develop differentiated skills through our associate population
  • Participate and contribute to firm initiatives as needed, providing a through collaboration with other senior leaders in Enterprise Learning and other business and functional leaders across the firm

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $136571

Hiring Maximum: $232541

Skills/Requirements

What Experience You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Education, Organizational Psychology, Human Capital Management, or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience corporate learning, performance, consultation, or similar role 3 of which must be in a leadership role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Superior communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to influence directly and indirectly
  • Knowledge of change leadership, systems thinking, and integration
  • Develop an understanding of the impacts changing industry standards may have on the firm as it relates to branch support
  • Advanced knowledge of Talent Management, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, and Modern Learning Experience Tools and Methodologies
  • Brinkerhoff Architect Certification required within first 6 months

  • Must be able to identify and solve broad, complex, and non-routine problems involving multiple business areas, multiple disciplines, multiple data sources, and multiple issues simultaneously; often very quickly and innovatively and with creativity and a human-centered approach.

Decision Making

  • Decisions will be broader (firm wide) and with longer lasting implications (including our 50K+ associates and clients)
  • Decisions are unlikely to have any precedent and will involve significant ambiguity, involve many areas, impacting many people and systems, with a high degree of risk (economic, emotional, legal, regulatory, cultural, etc.), and little guidelines.
  • Decisions will likely be complex and involve much integration due to unforeseen implications elsewhere in the firm
  • Decisions and recommendations may influence large and long-term financial commitments

Span Of Influence

  • Scope of work will broadly influence business results firmwide.
  • Implementation of broad strategy that often requires influencing leaders, including senior leaders, without direct authority.
  • Responsibilities may include hiring, terminating, writing performance reviews, and making other HR decisions for leaders and associates.

Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
