DIRECTOR, LICENSING, Office of Technology Development

Job Description

Boston University's Office of Technology Development (OTD) seeks a Director of Licensing to oversee, manage and execute transactional legal documents pertaining to intellectual property that emerge from University research in the life sciences.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Intellectual Property and Licensing, the Director will manage all aspects of the agreement process from inception to execution. The Director will be responsible for overseeing the creation of Material Transfer Agreements, Confidential Disclosure Agreements, Inter-Institutional Agreements, Intellectual Property Licenses, Memorandums of Understanding, Copyright Licenses, Patent Licenses, Termination Agreements and other legal documents as required. The position will be responsible for providing due diligence, document drafting, negotiation facilitation, adherence to approval processes and agreement execution. The Director will work in close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders including the faculty investigators, OTD case managers and Industry Engagement officers

Required Skills

Juris Doctorate (JD) required and 5 years or related experience.
