About This Role

The Director Medical Bill Review role supports the Services Bill Review Operations team and is responsible for coordinating, supervising and being accountable for the daily / weekly / monthly activities of their team members and assigned clients. The Director Medical Bill Review also performs reviews, audits, and investigate workers compensation medical bill review claims.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and supervise daily/weekly/monthly activities of the Production Lead team including setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met
  • Accountable for coaching, weekly/monthly 1:1’s, daily huddles, feedback, and annual performance reviews as well as managing formal corrective action
  • Act as subject matter expert/participate in projects - both internal and external
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met
  • Report out team metrics and results on a regular basis
  • Works with vendor partners to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing performance metrics are met
  • Identify process gaps and implement innovative process improvements
  • Identify, remediate, resolve, and root cause operational problems using defined processes and expertise
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes, and completes work to meet Production metrics
  • Utilize applicable tools/resources to investigate and document claims payments
  • Conduct reviews, audits, and monitor quality of work to ensure optimum achievement of established bill review procedures
  • Coordinate and communicate projects between teams, leadership, and other departments

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration or related field or higher required
  • 5+ years of experience with Workers Compensation Medical Bill Review
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Advanced knowledge in Workers Compensation rules/regulations
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects
  • Ability to identify, understand, and drive resolution of complex critical issues
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership and technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a large matrix environment
  • Medical Billing experience

Soft Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
