Director of Accounting

A global Commercial Real Estate firm based in Manhattan is seeking a Property Director to oversee a large reputable portfolio. This individual will be part of the Senior Leadership team and ensure all Accounting and Financial reporting matters are met with direct oversight over a team of 15 direct reports.

This is a hybrid position with a heavy in-office presence,.

Duties:

• Prepare or review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for clients, investors and lenders.
• Serve as subject matter expert on historical cost GAAP.
• Work with audit firm on interim and year end audits for assigned assets. Prepare draft annual audit report for client and audit firm review.
• Work with third party consultants on sales tax filings and periodic audits.
• Review and approve operating and real estate tax escalation calculations for income budgeting, billing estimates, and annual true ups.
• Strong customer service skills to lead collaboration between accounting, property and asset management teams.
• Review and guide the work of approximately 15 direct reports; be deeply involved in the daily production of deliverables. Lead and support the team in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance.
