Director of Accounts Receivable - Medical Billing and Collections

We are seeking a seasoned leader with medical billing and collections experience to direct our Accounts Receivables team.

Handi Medical is a provider of durable/home medical equipment and supplies in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our mission is to enrich lives and we look for new team members who have this same passion . As the Director of Accounts Receivable, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections, maintaining positive relationships with referrals and customers, and optimizing the company's revenue and cash flow. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work in office 3-4 days per week.

Responsibilites:

• Oversee the revenue cycle including collection of receivables, including denials and appeals of adverse reimbursement decisionsEnsure project deadlines, performance standards, and productivity standards are established and met
• Manage team workloads to ensure all tasks are being completed on time and accurately
• Develop and improve departmental workflows and operational processes and procedures
• Remain current with applicable accreditation, payer, state, and federal regulatory authorities that oversee the home medical equipment and supplies industry
• Evaluate systems and processes for billing and collections, and recommends changes to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness
• Develop policies, procedures, and best practices to all stakeholders to maintain compliance with regulations, requirements, and standards on a regular basis
• Analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to include overtime, expense ratios, and other reports to effectively manage the department and monitor validation and open receivables

Backgroud and Qualifications::

• Bachelor’s degree in related field. Related experience may substitute for the education requirement
• Seven-years’ experience in medical/durable medical equipment billing and collections including 3 years in a management role
• Strong working knowledge of general accounting, billing, collections, business practices, and office administration
• Current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health care regulations as they specifically apply to billing and collections
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers
• Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the essential job functions
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
