The Role:

The Director of Advertising is responsible for the delivery, planning and execution of advertising services to all of our clients. As the leader of our advertising team, this position will develop and manage the systems and tools Run AMZ uses to manage our clients’ advertising efforts. The Director of Advertising is also a day-to-day operator, keeping their skills sharp to serve our clients and train the team to offer best in class management strategy and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of 4 direct reports, provide mentorship to meet their professional development goals and empower autonomy.
  • Lead advertising team to deliver on our commitment to exceptional advertising management for our clients.
  • Serve as the advertising subject matter expert throughout the organization, with the responsibility to keep the client service team informed of all changes and trends among retail media, with a heavy emphasis on Amazon.
  • Facilitate and oversee collaboration between advertising and the client service team as it relates to paid search strategy, budgeting and management.
  • Accountable for the advertising team's performance - always delivering on our clients’ goals and KPIs
  • Develop metrics, reporting and processes for the advertising team that meets the needs of our clients and the client facing team.
  • Participate in the active management of advertising for key customers, as needed.
  • Ensure Run AMZ is forward-thinking in its approach to advertising for our clients.
  • Ensure Run AMZ is on the cutting edge of all things Amazon Advertising including AMS, AMG, DSP, etc.
  • Deliver continuous improvement to key metrics CTR, ROAS, ACoS and Conversion Rate for all our clients
  • Build up internal automation capabilities to proactively monitor and maintain campaigns via software and AI tools.
  • Contribute to Run AMZ’s reputation as a best-in-class agency through writing and/or speaking engagements related to advertising.
  • Participate in business development as needed to help secure new clients
  • Other roles and responsibilities that arise while working in a dynamic and high-growth startup.

Successful Candidates:

  • 4-7 years experience in professional services with a recent emphasis on marketing strategy and execution within the Amazon platform. Minimum 2 years In a leadership role.
  • Genuinely passionate about great work, your team and our business
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team to effectively execute advertising strategy and day-to-day
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the C-Suites
  • Extensive experience creating and managing paid search campaigns and the ability to teach others to do the same across multiple retail media platforms that includes Amazon, Walmart, and more.
  • Industry leading expertise when it comes to Amazon paid search – AA, AMS, AMG, DSP, Coupons, Promotions, etc.

Can execute:

  • Successful keyword management — both at new campaign creation and ongoing optimization
  • Establish effective bidding strategies
  • Measurement and analysis of campaign data
  • Testing and experimentation
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail; on your watch, things don’t slip through the cracks and you’ve been counted on in the past to deliver successfully to performance benchmarks
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field required
