A growing provider of extended detection and response (MDR) solutions, other managed security services, and cybersecurity advisory services, is looking to hire a VP for its Advisory services practice. While they are headquartered in the Southeast United States, they are open to individuals in various markets, as this role may work and report remotely (with frequent travel to the office and to customer sites). In fact, we expect this role to service primarily customers in the Northeast. We are looking for a personable, entrepreneurial, customer-centric cybersecurity expert with experience advising Private Equity firms and leading professional services or consulting teams focused on cybersecurity. The candidate will have a yearly revenue target/quota and will be tasked with meeting or exceeding this target. The candidate should be skilled and experienced at both advising on cybersecurity issues for board/executive audiences, and in recruiting, hiring, and building cohesive teams of cybersecurity experts.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
7+ years of cybersecurity advisory and/or practitioner experience
5+ years advising clients on how to harden cybersecurity controls, implement best practices, and implement security strategies
Experience advising and working with private equity firms, and specifically on due diligence projects for PE firms
Nuanced understanding of the cybersecurity threat landscape and the technology landscape and marketplace
Understanding of cyber insurance and experience helping customers/clients prepare for and attain cyber insurance
Knowledge of and experience advising on general cybersecurity compliance regimes such as NIST, ISO, and MITRE ATT&CK, as well as more industry-specific regimes like PCI, HIPAA, CMMC
Skilled networker and experienced pipeline manager comfortable with hitting revenue targets
Strategic, creative team-builder prepared to recruit direct reports and build a small advisory/consulting practice within the organization
Hustle and grit; independence, proactiveness
Ideally: experience advising PE firms on issues related to cybersecurity and/or performing cyber and IT-focused due diligence projects on behalf of PE firms
Role and Responsibilities:
Win and lead the execution of cybersecurity consulting projects with Private Equity firms
Help continue to build a team of 5+ cybersecurity consultants
Build out vertical-specific, problem-specific, or compliance regime-specific, modularized cybersecurity consulting offerings, from vulnerability assessments and pen-tests to incident response plans to compliance achievement roadmaps
Leverage existing cyber technologies and Confidential proprietary technology solutions to develop unique cybersecurity advisory offerings
Develop cybersecurity strategy documents and other deliverables; present those deliverables to audiences including business executives and boards
Identify and win customer relationships
Propose, hit, and exceed yearly revenue targets/quotas
