Brooklyn Dumpling Shop was born of the idea that “Everything’s better in a dumpling”. Through our distinct food, hospitality and digital-forward guest experience, we are committed to providing an outstanding experience to each of our guests, work environment to each of our team members and partnership to each of our stakeholders. Over the past year, BK Dumpling has been on a significant growth trajectory, going from 1 open shop to 11, expanding to over 1,000 retail doors nationally with our CPG products and raising a Series A funding round, with much more to come. And we’re just getting started.

While the majority of the corporate team is based out of our Union Square NYC headquarters, for the right candidate with CPG experience, we are flexible on geography within the US, ideally near one of our shops so you can be an active consumer of our brand.

About the Role


Over the past year, BK Dumpling’s Corporate Team has guided and supported growth-oriented priorities. This includes new agency partnerships, menu innovation, as well as building new capabilities and partnerships for our CPG products. The Senior Manager/Director, CPG will take ownership of developing compelling, mutually beneficial partnerships with leading Retailers, including new & existing account management & planning, brand activations, promotions and trade spend, all toward the goal of supporting healthy, enduring, profitable sales-driving initiatives that grow velocity and retail doors for our dynamic brand. 


This individual will collaborate closely with our manufacturing plant, CPG brokers, agencies, vendors and other key business partners to optimize sales & profitability through effective, disciplined account management. They will also work closely with Marketing to ensure seamless activations, beautiful brand imagery, compelling social media and engaging with our online community to foster brand loyalty and drive customer acquisition.


In addition to supporting Retailers, additional responsibilities will include evaluating and standing-up DTC as a channel, alongside evaluating opportunities for innovation through existing and adjacent categories. 


Responsibilities*

  • Account Management & Planning – Partner with Retail buyers to most effectively merchandise our brand, from getting on the shelf to ensuring we have compelling programing and activations that enhance velocity and expand our presence
  • CPG Sales Management - Forge strong relationships with current and potential future broker partners and brand salesforce to most effectively evaluate & engage in CPG growth
  • Manufacturing & Vendor Support - Collaborate with manufacturing & vendor network to optimize profitability, including managing packaging, inventory management & planning, distribution and other factors influencing route to market
  • Quantitative Analysis - Leverage data to support sales initiatives and profitable growth, including assessing trade spend effectiveness, shopper marketing efforts and other sales driving initiatives for efficacy and ROI
  • Brand Building - Work closely with Leadership, Marketing and Strategic Investors to most effectively tell the story of our brand, growing awareness & trial via social media, in-store promotions, sampling events, and other trade tools 
  • DTC Value Chain - Evaluate and optimize DTC as a meaningful channel for us, including assessing return on required investment to build the channel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field 
  • 5-10+ years of experience in CPG sales, marketing or related field
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to design, implement and execute sales driving initiatives
  • Understanding of P&L and basic finance principles supporting profitable growth
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and franchisees
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Retailer-specific portals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs

Working Environment

This position is ideally located in New York City. While we maintain a hybrid work environment, we do have an office in Union Square in the heart of Manhattan. For the right candidate, this position could also be remote, particularly in a city where we have shops and you can be a consumer of our brand. That includes Philadelphia, Austin, Dallas and soon Miami.
