The Director of Engine Trading is a crucial role, providing vital support for our daily serviceable engine program operations. This position is responsible for maintaining valuation models, overseeing the repair process, and ensuring the seamless execution of engine contracts. It requires an in-depth understanding of the aviation engine serviceable markets and programs, combined with the technical expertise to develop engine work scopes that strategically enhance the value and lifespan of engine assets.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and update valuation models for the serviceable engine program.
  • Develop and implement an RFP process for selecting repair shops to optimize repair and maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement an RFP process for completed engines, including customer identification.
  • Manage engines through the repair process while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Control all costs related to the project budget, including material supply and subcontract expenses.
  • Oversee the purchase of necessary materials and collaborate with the USM product line for material support.
  • Conduct regular shop visits to ensure quality and efficiency in the repair process.
  • Negotiate and manage engine repair contracts, ensuring compliance and favorable terms.
  • Identify and facilitate the engine purchase process, including physical inspections and due diligence.
  • Work closely with the external records team to perform thorough due diligence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Provide support in the sales process, using technical expertise to assist with client queries and transactions.
  • Required Qualifications:

    • 10 years of commercial engine trading experience.
    • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and engine shops/repair facilities on maintenance General Terms and Agreements (GTAs), with a proven track record of successful closures.
    • Extensive technical knowledge of the following engine platforms: CFM56-7B/5B, V2500, CF6-80C2, and PW4000-94.
    • Proficiency in understanding engine technical publications and determining the applicability of service bulletins and airworthiness.
    • Familiarity with aviation regulations, compliance, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve engine trading and technical objectives.
