Overview:

Directs and oversees the Events and Catering department. Responsible for the management, planning, execution and sales efforts of all club and catered events. Ensures a high level of member and guest satisfaction and quality standards. The Director of Events and Catering is responsible to meet revenue forecasts and financial objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and manages all club events and catering department functions including sales, budget and administration.
  • Develops new ideas for theme events in conjunction with the Tennis, Fitness, Food and Beverage, Golf, and Membership departments.
  • Sells and books events for members, non-members, club functions and private events.
  • Seeks new business and ensures return business.
  • Ensures proper management of all social activities and catered events, including, but not limited to: sales, marketing, planning, floor plans, seating assignments, merchandising, servicing, and corresponding administrative procedures.
  • Develops and maintains vendor profiles to include audio visual, floral, equipment rental and photographers.
  • Works with Marketing and Director of Food and Beverage to develop a month calendar, listing all of the existing events. Communicates with various departments regarding event details to ensure successful completion of all events.
  • Works with Food and Beverage Director and Director of Culinary to develop banquet menus, pricing, and revenue minimums using current and competitive data.
  • Oversees data entry of contracts, banquet event orders, billings and mail, conducts weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings and distributes function sheets to all departments.
  • Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to catering staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) and five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing and leading associates.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and a driving history to meet the standard of insurability is required.
