Job Summary:

We are seeking a Financial Director/Controller with strong expertise in forward modeling to drive our financial strategy and decision-making process. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SaaS companies, financial forecasting, scenario analysis, and predictive modeling techniques, enabling them to create data-driven financial projections that anticipate future challenges and opportunities. This role requires an individual who can work closely with leadership to model various financial outcomes, optimize resource allocation, and support long-term strategic planning. Experience in building dynamic financial models that inform budgeting, investment decisions, and risk management is essential. This role involves strategic financial planning, managing budgeting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. The Director of Finance will work closely with the executive and senior management to achieve the organization's financial objectives and maintain the overall financial health of the company.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Manage the complete life cycle of the NetSuite implementation project, from planning and design to execution and post-implementation support
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and consultants to ensure all project requirements are met
  • Train finance and accounting teams on NetSuite functionality, best practices, and new workflows to maximize user adoption and system utilization
  • Oversee the transition from legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations

Accounting Operations Management

  • Oversee accrual accounting and bookkeeping systems including data input, chart of accounts
  • Produce monthly financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Manage the company's accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Produce monthly reconciliation of multiple bank accounts

Financial Reporting, Analysis and Planning

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, costs, and ROI’s and make recommendations to improve financial performance
  • Collect and interpret complex financial data and transform it into clear, actionable information
  • Analyze financial data and prepare draft budgets for leadership
  • Monitor and assess accrual based EBIDTA; spot and communicate trends, and recommend how to improve
  • Recommend pricing strategies, especially in regard to new products to maximize accrual based EBIDTA
  • Monitor 6 and 12-month cash flow requirements

Cost/Budget Management

  • Draft company and departmental budgets for leadership review
  • Monitor expenses against final budgets for adherence and accuracy
  • Draft/recommend policies regarding staff travel and other expense accounting. Oversee practice of staff accountability regarding travel and other expense reporting
  • Oversee calculation and payout of draws and commissions
  • Review contracts for client sales, purchased services, and third-party channels

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a plus
  • SaaS-based experience is required
  • Proven experience managing a successful NetSuite implementation or similar ERP project
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change
  • Experience in building dynamic financial models that inform budgeting, investment decisions, and risk management is essential
  • 7+ years prior experience working with a CFO or Finance firm, a plus
  • Experience working with cash and GAAP based accounting
  • Effectively communicate with leadership team, staff members, and potentially clients and external auditors
  • Comfortable with large datasets
  • Proficiency in the following are a plus MS Excel, MS Word, QuickBooks, SalesForce generally and CPQ, SF Billing, and QBO-Salesforce integrations

This full-time remote position has a base salary starting at $100K-135k, commensurate with experience.
