In partnership with the Chief Innovation officer, this role is responsible for creating and executing global marketing plans and drive the day to day product development initiatives for new launches and ongoing business across multiple categories. The Director of Marketing and Product Development is responsible for helping to define the vision and long-term plan for all categories and driving cross-functional collaboration to develop and implement cohesive global strategies and innovative products for brand expansion and revenue growth.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead with data + insights, including market analysis & trends and consumer insights to inform marketing strategies, product opportunities and portfolio optimization
Collaborate on the execution of portfolio roadmap including product architecture, pricing strategy, + SKU management
Collaborate with CEO & CIO on strategic brand partnerships
Partner with cross functional departments to develop and align on all new retail and product launches / reformulation / repackaging strategy, in line with brand, financial and sustainability goals that deliver on channel needs
Develop and implement best in class go-to-market strategy to drive sales and brand growth for new product launches and core re-support programs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, creative, operations, finance, and PR to ensure aligned messaging and brand consistency
Partner on repackaging updates: Collaborate with sales, operations, creative and regulatory teams to strategically plan and execute updates to existing packaging. Optimize design, messaging, brand consistency, claims, costs, and operational efficiency
Synthesize approved concepts into relevant lab brief and kick off with suppliers
Lead the day to day on all product development process partnering with all cross- functional teams
In partnership with CIO, own the day-to-day communications with all external suppliers, agencies, labs, and partners as it pertains to the development of formula and packaging
Writes, reviews & edits copy for cross functional needs including PR, retailers, .com, digital marketing, etc.
Analyze and manage product COGs to ensure favorable profitability to the brand
Develop and maintain deep understanding of target audiences, including needs, preferences, and behaviors
Profile:
7-10 years of relevant marketing and product development experience – beauty industry required
Strong aesthetic and clear understanding of the luxury beauty landscape & lifestyle
Proven track record of driving sales growth and brand awareness through innovative campaigns
Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and analytics
Deep understanding of end-to-end product development cycle
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Works independently & takes initiative to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, and active listening
Strong creative deck building with appropriate content
Excellent analytical and project Management Skills
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field

Salary range: $145-$165K
