Job Summary And Qualifications

As the Director of the Emergency Services Department, your pivotal role encompasses ensuring service excellence, growth, development, personnel management, and effective resource allocation. Your responsibilities are integral to maintaining a high standard of patient care within the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify and address real or potential problems affecting the service, implementing solutions with thorough follow-through and communication.
  • Actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, providing ongoing communication to those represented.
  • Advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
  • Coach immediate subordinates, providing constructive critique, facilitating individual development plans, and documenting job performance.
  • Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
  • Effectively communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
  • Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.
  • Build strong relationships and networks to deliver upon organizational and department goals.
  • Participate in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring potential future leaders.
  • Enforce standards of emergency department care and develop processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program aligned with the Hospital's mission.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies for patient services, environmental, and personnel safety.
  • Oversee a PI program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
  • Ensure departmental operational excellence, delivering quality services in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  • Support the recruitment process to secure staffing talent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in emergency services required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • Facility: 403 Bed Facility, Level 1 Trauma Facility.
  • Full-Time Equivalent Employees (FTEs): 127.

General Comments

  • Bonus Incentives: 15-22.5% Potential.
  • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus.
