As part of the Marketing team, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for leading and developing our marketing team. The ideal person will have experience leading marketing teams at an agency, and should have a proficient understanding of all aspects of marketing.

Marketing Accountabilities

  • Lead the marketing team through innovation, collaboration, and creativity; develop and implement department policies, procedures, and key offerings.
  • Lead the development of internal tools, including industry metrics database, project and task trackers, and department guides.
  • Build branding, and integrated marketing knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices and local marketing tactics with team members
  • Hire, train, and develop the marketing team, continuously mentoring and coaching team members to meet their career growth plans.
  • Identify new avenues for marketing and growth opportunities in projects and services, meeting department KPIs on monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly basis
  • Design and implement integrated media buys for both ASG and clients; use analytical tools to test, measure, and modify campaigns as needed
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of client needs and take action to ensure clients are satisfied and retained, with a 90% or above client satisfaction rate
  • Ensure complete and timely management of individual project timelines, budgets and expenses, staying within agreed upon parameters
  • Analyze campaigns and compile reports for clients that include clear recommendations and plans for revising marketing strategies
  • Oversee creation and development of content for integrated marketing projects, with a focus on assets intended for digital and online streaming platforms (images, videos, blogs, audio, etc.); develop and coordinate production schedules and maintain ongoing relationships with graphic designers, mail houses, printers, photographers, and videographers
  • Ensure all ASG and client media interactions foster a positive brand experience and sentiment.
  • Oversees collaboration with Creative services team to ensure message consistency in tone, voice, and character across marketing platforms (social media, websites, ads, etc.)
  • Recommend strategic input to website building, development and optimization by supporting web development and design teams; providing guidance on marketing-related aspects of ASG and client’s web presence
  • Assume other responsibilities as needed by the Integrated Marketing team

Operations Accountabilities

  • Lead and direct the hiring and training of departmental managers and staff, ensuring trainings and real time development based on client and management feedback occurs.
  • Develop, implement, and direct day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key company initiatives, with the ability to speak to status and provide solutions to problem solve any areas of concerns.
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, teams, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks and projects, ensuring budgetary parameters are closely followed, meeting our profit margins.
  • Analyze, direct, and present current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary
  • Lead in communication and training of all staff on new operational policies or procedures to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university, with a degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field. MBA or advanced specialty degree in above areas a plus.
  • 7 Years of advanced, direct involvement of integrated marketing principles and business operations, direct involvement of deliverables for companies with $15M plus operating budgets. National level campaign and communications experience is a big plus.
  • 5 Years of departmental KPI and Metric development and Goal setting, with at least 3 years of proven achievements.
  • 5 years of direct personnel management, performance management and evaluations, training and coaching teams of 5 FTEs to 15 FTEs,
  • 5 years of professional work experience overseeing/directing client and customer portfolios totaling $1M to $3M in sales
  • 7 years of Advertising or Marketing Agency work experience with a focus on mission based, community focused outcomes, preferable in urban/city settings.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Portuguese is a plus.

  • Demonstrates team management skills such as empathy, patience, advocacy, and conflict resolution
  • Healthy balance of meeting organizational goals; budget, revenue model, and practicing sustainable financial management while encompassing staff goals.
  • Understanding and practice of budgeting, forecasts, ROI management.
  • Advanced fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, Google Analytics and ability to build proficiency in database management applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; with a strong ability to customize communications to meet audience needs.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
  • Strategic management with the confidence to take the lead internally and externally and guide clients, customers, employees and consultants when necessary.

  • Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000. The total compensation package is subject to relevant years of experience and Minimum Essential Requirements
