Director of North America (Voluntary), Nature Resort Development Alliance

The Nature Resort Development Alliance (NRDA) is seeking a visionary and dedicated individual to join our team as the Director of North America (Voluntary). This role is pivotal in leading our strategic initiatives and promoting sustainable resort development across North America. The Director will work closely with our global council, affiliate members, and resort developers to achieve our mission of shaping a more sustainable future for the nature-based tourism industry.

Key Responsibilities

As Director of North America (Voluntary) , you will be responsible for:

• Developing and executing strategic plans for promoting sustainability within the resort industry in North America.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the region, including government officials, resort developers, and other relevant organisations.
• Identifying new opportunities and partnerships that align with our mission and values.
• Representing NRDA at conferences, seminars, and events to promote sustainable development practices within the resort industry.
• Providing guidance and support to our Council members in North America, ensuring their alignment with global best practices and standards.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

• A strong understanding of sustainable development principles and best practices within the tourism industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or role within the resort, hospitality or tourism or sector in North America.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successfully executing strategic plans and achieving desired outcomes.
• Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment.
