We are a growing company in the custom CNC manufacturing space and work primarily with companies in the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries. We are highly recognized for our work in the manufacturing industry and offer custom build-to-print manufacturing services.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Director of Operations to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for meeting the safety, cost, quality, production, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives for the business. You will oversee Managers of Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, and Quality.

Responsibilities

Develops metrics, guidelines, and standards to assess the company’s performance, both quantitatively and qualitatively; spots areas for improvement.

Reviews and evaluates current business processes.

Implements strategies and procedures to enhance daily operations.

Ensures that work environments are safe and meet standards.

Manages the engineering, manufacturing, materials, and quality departments, ensuring they achieve targets set by leadership.

Communicates and clarifies new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; holds meetings with the operations staff for major changes to explain updates, address concerns, and boost morale.

Enhances customer service and satisfaction through updates in policy and procedure.

Represents the organization positively to employees, clients, industry stakeholders, and the community.

Leads the coordination and integration of operations, engineering, technology, and program management to streamline workflow and optimize business processes.

Develops operational plans and improvement strategies at the site level that align with business goals.

Manages talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and leadership succession planning in operations, while demonstrating integrity, inclusivity, and diversity.

Oversees department budgets and production targets through resource management and sales and operations planning.

Coordinates cross-functional reviews and alignment across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, continuous improvement, and EH&S.

Identifies and enhances manufacturing processes to reduce labor and equipment processing times.

Reviews and collaborates on engineering designs to ensure efficient manufacturing and sustainable production using Design for Manufacturing / Assembly tools.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of business and financial practices, theories, and policies.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong managerial and diplomatic abilities.

Highly skilled in Microsoft Office or similar software.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Advanced analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field with at least 15 years of relevant experience (or a Graduate Degree with 13 years of experience).

Experience in multi-disciplinary operations including manufacturing, testing, supply chain, quality, EH&S, and/or operational excellence.

Proven experience in communicating across all organizational levels and leading cross-functional teams.
