Role:

At Allivet, we're revolutionizing pet care by providing convenient access to essential medications. We're seeking a results-oriented Director of Prescription Verification to lead our team in ensuring accurate, compliant medication dispensing for our online pet pharmacy customers You will drive efficiency and quality by streamlining verification processes and leveraging technology to ensure timely and accurate. You’ll build strong relationships with veterinarians, facilitating efficient verification approvals while adhering to all regulations. You’ll embrace innovative solutions to optimize pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

Verification and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive verification processes in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Oversee the verification activities of pharmacy staff, including training and performance evaluations
  • Maintain compliance standards that align with board of pharmacy regulations, and company policies

Pharmacy Operations:

  • Define and deliver exceptional customer experience goals for both veterinary partners and Allivet pharmacy customers
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and safety
  • Successful delivery of complex projects from ideation to execution in partnership with internal and external teams
  • Utilize industry knowledge to recommend policies and programs, which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
  • Develop medium to long term roadmap to improve existing Prescription Management System, and other technologies to improve prescription verification process
  • Accountable for all performance metrics of the pharmacy verification team including safety, compliance, people, quality, and cost
  • Develop KPI to track performance, identify trends and provide insight into process improvements
  • Communicate with senior leadership on business performance, project updates, and resource prioritization.

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Create a culture of customer experience that leverages continuous improvement tools to exceed veterinary and customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of verification services
  • Leverage proactive and reactive customer/veterinary feedback to develop system and process enhancements needed to improve delivery experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization

Experience / Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university; PharmD preferred, MBA preferred but not required
  • 10+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a pharmacy, healthcare, or ecommerce environment
  • Pharmacy/healthcare experience strongly desired.
  • Experience in Animal Health industry a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and project management
  • Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Project implementation, project management experience
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous improvement in pharmacy services
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and technology used in pharmacy verification processes
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards related to pharmacy operations
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  • Travel up to 5% to sites beyond the corporate office.
  • Perform light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
  • Able to operate standard office/computer equipment

Compensation:

The compensation range for this role is between $120,000-$140,000 annually, based on experience.
