The Director of Pricing is responsible for developing and executing the M&D pricing strategy for our product offering. This individual works closely with Sales, Operations, Executives, and Finance leaders. This individual will work continuously to enhance processes to best serve our customers.

The Director of Pricing is responsible for developing and executing the M&D pricing strategy for our product offering. This individual works closely with Sales, Operations, Executives, and Finance leaders. This individual will work continuously to enhance processes to best serve our customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Establish the strategic direction and objection for pricing; Develop, lead, and manage pricing process.
- Develop scalable frameworks with product experts to tailor the M&D pricing strategies that will drive recurring revenue growth.
- Advise M&D in the areas of Revenue & Margin Management—margin transparency, product portfolio optimization, SKU rationalization, new product development, pricing, and margin recovery.
- Evaluate current cost allocation processes and mechanisms, e.g., cost categories allocated, basis for allocation, etc.
- Assess current profitability by market, customer, product category, SKU, etc.
- Identify and quantify additional complexity-driven costs-to-serve (e.g., product customization, extra customer service, samples, expedited freight, special customer terms).
- Assess potential for and implement cost-to-serve premiums and targeted price adjustments and quantify impact on margin and profitability.
- Assess competitive landscape and customer trends.
- Evaluate and assess product portfolio (Financial measures, product life-cycle stage and competitive differentiation)
- Using Cost-to-Serve framework, identify low or negative net margin SKUs and evaluate improvement opportunity of elimination identified SKUs.
- Assess strategies and quantify profitability opportunities through various pricing levers such as value price setting, transactional price management (e.g., leakage, discounts, and escalators), and pass-through (inflation, material costs).
- Work directly with C-Level Executives to evaluate the cost/benefit of various pricing models; Develop consistent methods for calculating pricing levels to create pricing expectations.
- Work closely with various internal departments to implement any pricing software to work with our ERP.
- Lead price increase process for the organization while ensuring reasonableness with the market.
- Evaluate if margin improvements are a function of volume increases, price increases, or mix.
- Support the annual operating plan build and tracking for the pricing actions as part of the annual budgeting process.
- Provide value-added thinking and mentorship to ensure junior team members develop over time and are satisfied.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to stitch together insights from disparate data sources both internally and externally.

- Operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects in varying degrees of implementation.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing, finance, technology, statistics, or related field.
- Experience within the Automotive/Diesel/Transportation industry preferred.
- 7 years’ experience in managing and implementing pricing and analytics platforms; Epicor Prelude ERP experience a plus.
- Experience in data science and analytics with pricing capabilities.
- Expert-level Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience managing large scale technology service providers and various delivery models for optimal fit with organizational culture and structure.
- Experience and proficiency with other suite of Microsoft products.
