Director of Sales


The Role

Our client, a home fragrance and personal care company, is looking for an experienced and driven Director of Sales to grow the sales team, strategy, revenue growth, gross margin, and profit across QVC & Beauty businesses. This role reports to the Senior Director of Sales and is responsible for leading a team across the key retailers of QVC, Kohl’s, HSN, Ulta, Sephora and others. The successful Sales Director will find and develop new business opportunities; create value for customers which correlate to high customer satisfaction; develop and implement annual key account business plans; and maintain relationships across functions, business units and geographic boundaries (Marketing, Finance, and Operations). The Sales Director prepares plans, presents to customers, and develops new business opportunities while becoming a consultant, negotiator, and partner to the business. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of running a P&L and a proven track record of the major accounts with outstanding analytical, account planning and influencing skills. This is a fully remote position in our sales organization.


Areas Of Responsibility

  • Leading a highly successful sales team on developed and future emerging businesses.
  • Drive profitable growth, as measured by attainment of plan sales goal, comp sales growth, positive comp contribution, and increased customer transactions
  • Researches, identifies, and develops new business development opportunities and devises methods to take advantage of these opportunities
  • Continuously analyze current business portfolio. Identify product/services lifecycles and plans for portfolio components
  • Continuously analyze and rationalize the current SKU portfolio
  • Develops the vision & long-term strategic plan (three-five years) for major accounts
  • Contract and negotiate annual agreements for major accounts
  • Creation of short- and long-term strategies and plans for the development and roll out of new initiatives. Ensure that these initiatives can be converted into plans and programs that can be readily adopted/adapted by all departments
  • Manage QVC On Air production schedule to ensure airtime is productive and drive sales
  • Partner with marketing team to create quarterly promotional strategies by retailer
  • Analyze all QVC airtime sales and create weekly sales recaps
  • Develop ideas for new business initiatives and existing projects that will increase the profitability of the company.
  • Addresses shortfalls and risks to plan for accounts
  • Attain or exceed identified monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales volume goals
  • Represent the company in a highly professional manner consistent with the company image
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate should possess a BA/BS degree or equivalent training with 8+ years of experience in sales and experience in selling to beauty and home departments preferred.
  • Experience with QVC, Kohl’s, Ulta, Sephora and others.
  • 8+ years’ experience with a fast-moving consumer goods company in progressively more senior roles; proven track record of results delivery
  • Experience in P&L/budget management
  • Exceptional presentation skills and experience presenting to VP and C level executives
  • A true ‘team player’ with a proven ability to collaborate with people across all levels and functions to achieve results
  • Net Suite, One World Sync, Asana, Salsify, and Retail Link experience preferred, but not required
  • Up to 50% Travel Expectations Nationwide


Compensation- $180,000-$200,000 Base Salary + 15-20% Bonus
