About the Position

Reporting to the VP Sales and Marketing, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Strategic Alliances to join our leadership team. This role will be pivotal in forging and nurturing strategic partnerships that drive growth, market expansion and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the government sector, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of developing successful alliances.


RESPONSIBILITIES & PRIMARY DUTIES

Strategic Partnership Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, technology providers, consultants, and industry organizations.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic alliances strategy aligned with the company's GTM goals and objectives.
  • Establish win-win partnerships that allow everyone to focus on growth while receiving rewards that provide the incentive for ongoing work together.
  • Identify sector leaders and up and coming players to establish business and technical partnerships.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with partners to foster collaboration and mutual growth.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic partners, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to influence joint deal strategies and ensure successful execution.

Market Analysis and Strategy:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential partners within the government payments and citizen engagement sectors.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop market entry and expansion strategies.
  • Advise on partner-specific marketing collateral, messaging and activities positioning a best-in-class solution offering.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

  • Lead negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with company objectives.
  • Identify and execute on a roadmap of contracting vehicles that align with strategic partner capabilities and objectives and Core GTM.
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and management of contracts and agreements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including product development, sales and marketing, account management, client engagement and customer support, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of partnership initiatives.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across departments to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic alliances at a collective, company and deal level.
  • Regularly report on partnership performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of growth focused roles in sales, marketing, business development or partnership management.
  • 5+ years of experience dealing with senior decision makers and executives in partner organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of the government payments landscape, including utilities, community development, taxes and adjacent agencies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with partners and attend industry events.
