Role Overview: 

The Director of Transportation and Warehousing is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of transportation operations, Warehousing, and strategy. This role involves overseeing the efficient and effective management of 3PL services for warehousing and transportation, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and enhancing service delivery to meet the needs of customers or clients. 

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and third-party service providers. Including RFP reviews. 
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate transportation services with overall business operations.
• Monitor budgeting, financial planning, and cost control measures related to transportation.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations and laws.
• Analyze transportation data and metrics to inform decision-making and report to senior management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the transportation team to achieve high performance and effective succession planning.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in transportation services.
• Support Warehousing (3PL) relationships with contract reviews, facility usage, and onboarding of new facilities. 
• Develops or directs the creation of metrics to measure the performance of all areas of warehouse and logistics.
• Cultivates a high performance, result-oriented culture by maintaining positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with the production department to ensure seamless communication regarding out-of-stock items and production schedules. 
• Develop and implement strategies to minimize backorder situations by coordinating inventory needs and timelines. 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 10 Years experience working in Transportation and Logistics
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 
•  Advanced degrees or certifications in logistics or transportation management are preferred.
• Proven experience in transportation or logistics management, with a strong track record in strategic planning and team leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation systems, 3PL management, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage diverse teams.
• Outstanding communication and people skills.
• Travel may be required to meet with CMs, attend conferences, or visit operational sites.
• NetSuite experience preferred.
