These are exciting days at Greenhouse, as we are early into our expansion to the U.S. Market. To fuel that growth, we are seeking a Director, U.S. Sales. As the architect of a largely undeveloped space for our brand, you’ll craft and execute a strategy to land significant presence across a variety of channels, and aggressively grow our sales in the U.S. market. Externally, you’ll work with our broker and distributor partners, strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones. Internally, you’ll serve as the voice of the U.S. consumer and retailer as a stakeholder in our innovation, planning and portfolio management.


You are autonomous and a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, working well within a team framework but able to work independently at a fast pace with high engagement, dependable execution and timely follow-up. A strategic thinker with intellectual curiosity, you have the ability to take calculated risks and a strong drive to develop a profitable, “sticky” business with pace.


Key Performance Outcomes:

  • Total net revenue from U.S. Sales (exact targets TBD but think exponential growth!)
  • Gross Margin % & EBITDA %
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives.
  • Customer acquisition & retention rates.
  • DSO for assigned customers


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • P&L accountability for the U.S. business, including diligent management of trade investment within budgets, effectively invested in +ROI activities to expand sales & share.
  • Enhance and build on our roadmap for U.S. sales, developing and executing strategic sales plans to meet business objectives. This should be seen to include channel/customer segmentation & strategies, portfolio/4P plans for the US market, 3-year planning targets, and broker/distributor strategies & partnerships.
  • Sales operations: you are comfortable and experienced in designing a net new and efficient distribution model for Greenhouse in the US market.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Be the market expert – stay on top of competitive brands, innovation, and trends.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (8-10 years) of sales experience in food, beverage, CPG or a related category, and a track record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Preference given to those with organic/natural food & beverage experience in the U.S. market.
  • Deep understanding of the customer/category landscape, up to speed on latest trends, best practices and go-to-market models within the market.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present strategy in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience with CRM and other tools to build out a sales channel.


Final Details

  • Preference may be given to candidates in the New York or Chicago areas, but as a remote position we are flexible on location provided you live near an international airport.
  • This is a remote role; be prepared to travel as necessary for customer meetings, trade shows, and to HQ.
  • Valid passport required for occasional travel to Toronto, ON head office.
