The Opportunity

The Director, of Operational Procurement will lead a team of procurement professionals focused on providing support to our manufacturing locations through supply chain assurance, supplier engagement, transactional efficiency, and value creation by improving Total Cost of Ownership. The successful candidate will manage the relationship and communication with Operations Leadership, including Regional Vice Presidents and General Managers. Additionally, the individual will drive process standardization, transactional efficiency, continuous process improvement, and talent development to ensure manufacturing sites are able to deliver innovative and sustainable products to our customers.

How You Will Impact WestRock

• Improve supply chain assurance through a thorough understanding of market drivers that impact the timely delivery of goods and services to our manufacturing sites for the best value.
• Ensure the realization of cost savings initiatives as defined by category teams through collaboration with local procurement, maintenance, and operations.
• Drive the standardization of procurement processes through stakeholder engagement and alignment across all business segments to ensure we optimize our purchasing power and create transactional efficiency.
  
  

What You Need To Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, Masters preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience leading Operational Procurement teams in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes, supply chain assurance, and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication skills, ability to develop relationships, and lead through change.
• Ability to work across multiple teams, challenge the status quo, and lead through influence.
• Ability to make decisions through critical and analytical thinking while ensuring compliance with company policy and/or local regulations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
