Job Description

REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT: Reports to the VP, PMO & Global Business Excellence in the Project Management department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Drives product development (PD) across different Accuray functions (Manufacturing, Service, Marketing, Finance, R&D and Regulatory/Quality) and with external organizations, ensuring timely execution against plan/ program schedule
  • Drives product development programs involving a high degree of cross-functional coordination and hands-on problem solving within the CyberKnife product
  • Drives product portfolio planning in concert with Project Leaders, including work estimation, scheduling, “what-if” analysis, and re-planning as required
  • “Scopes” cross functional needs for the product and associated programs, including product Rregistration and related testing activities for countries around the world, and other market needs
  • Monitors progress of development programs, using existing Accuray program monitoring and control mechanisms, and bottleneck management techniques to keep programs on track
  • Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; create contingency plans; monitor risk levels and drives execution of contingency plans as appropriate
  • Interfaces with cross-functional representatives to ensure robust requirements management and design control activities are completed in step with overall program needs
  • Oversees and coordinates People and Financial Resources required to deliver the PD programs in line with plan/contract
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors the proper allocation of cross-functional product development resources to deliver within program parameters
  • Understands, monitors and directs the cross-functional activities and product development deliverables with the CyberKnife product. Recognize and correct deficiencies and weaknesses within the product line
  • Manages internal stakeholder interactions, anticipating and proactively resolving conflicts that may arise
  • Estimates and monitors product cost (COGS) allocation (in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing & Finance)
  • Develops and monitors product line and contributing project budgets (in collaboration with Finance)
  • Demonstrates proficiency with preferred tools, techniques, and methods for Program and Portfolio management, document control, and resource modeling
  • Develops and delivers stakeholder communications
  • Prepares team communications to ensure efficient and effective communication with key stakeholders, including, but not limited to formal reporting requirements, maintaining open communication among program participants and interested parties
  • Conducts regular and ad-hoc meetings with program teams, sponsors, and clients. Manages contracts, requirements, and specifications with external partners and/or collaborators
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for the Design History File and all of its contents for regulatory audits and notified bodies and understands regulatory requirements and practices


Qualifications

Preferred or Desired:

  • PMP Certification and/or advanced degree
  • Experience managing Programs involving external collaborators in, potentially, different time zones or countries.
  • Industry experience and knowledge of medical device and regulatory standards


Required

  • BS in a technical discipline (engineering, computer science, physics, etc.) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in project, program and/or engineering functional management, preferably in both Hardware & Software discipline
  • Minimum 8 years in Product Development with proven interaction skills with individual contributors and management across engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and regulatory functions
  • Ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels across all levels of a matrixed organization to deliver results
  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects of diverse scope with diverse teams of varying sizes
  • Ability to develop and deliver clear, crisp communications (written and verbal) that are customized to the needs of different audiences, ensuring timely and relevant communication
  • Ability to see the big picture and ability to synthesize, analyze, and draw insights from large data sets to inform the best path forward
  • Functions independently with little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments
  • Some travel, domestic or international, may be required

Accuray Pay Transparency Statement

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, future potential and internal pay parity.
