The Director of EPMO is a seasoned Program Management Practitioner, skilled in using the entire PMP toolkit and capable of performing both strategic and tactical work. This role involves expertly managing the lifecycle of a complex set of initiatives, requiring the ability to solve problems and organize through ambiguity, often delivering work independently with minimal guidance. With high visibility, the Director will work globally across all organizational functions and teams.

As a Director in the EPMO, you will:

  • Oversee enterprise-wide coordination of multiple complex and strategic programs, connecting the dots across workstreams to ensure high-quality and on-time delivery.
  • Manage a portfolio of critical projects and programs, both short-term (6 months or less) and long-term, regardless of prior experience in the specific topic areas.
  • Engage directly with teams, taking on tasks outside traditional project management to better understand the work and unblock the team.
  • Drive continuous clarity as business and program strategies evolve over time.
  • Apply broad strategic influence across the organization, continuously unblocking and aligning teams toward simple, coherent approaches.
  • Facilitate trade-offs between short-term and long-term needs, ensuring progress in difficult situations.
  • Run and manage the business cadence of programs, including meetings, planning, reviews, and driving complex decisions.
  • Communicate effectively at both executive and team levels, producing high-fidelity verbal and written communications, including meeting notes when needed.
  • Continuously improve processes, drive efficiencies, and create standardized work practices where possible.
  • Act as a conduit, not a bottleneck.
  • Always find new challenges.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIORS:

  • 6+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Highly organized with strong time management, problem-solving, and team facilitation skills.
  • Proactive with the ability to work with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience in managing 2 or more concurrent complex programs and delivering end-to-end results across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience contributing to major company initiatives and developing business strategies.
  • Ability to rapidly understand complex systems and workflows among teams, with a strong focus on understanding the why and how behind the work.
  • Sound business judgment, data-driven decision-making, and comfort with making quick decisions.
  • Strong influencing skills to create harmony and build consensus around customer needs without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging an executive audience.
  • Adherence to rigorous standards while balancing stakeholder commitments across a portfolio of projects.
  • High level of curiosity and passion for learning about new products, people, and market segments.
  • Eagerness to dive deep, participate in healthy debates, and align differing viewpoints around the best path forward.
  • Willingness to voice tough questions and offer solutions, recognizing that ideas are starting points for learning more from subject matter experts.
  • Readiness to take on assignments outside your experience and comfort zone.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active PMP, PRINCE2, Lean/Six Sigma, or Agile Certified practitioner.
  • Experience working directly with C-suite executives, including building and leading presentations, facilitating discussions, and providing key inputs to strategic decisions.
  • Global perspective with experience working on initiatives involving teams around the world.
