About The Role

The Director, Quality – North America role is responsible for leading SCJ in achieving industry best-in-class Quality results in North America. The Director will assure compliance with regulatory requirements and SCJ procedures and guidelines. The Director will also drive improvement in product Quality and performance, reducing variability and cost of Quality. Also, the Director will investigate and resolve operational Quality issues.

The scope of this role is the end-to-end supply chain in the Region i.e. factories, GCB, contractors, repacking, warehouses and transport (in line with TTW project evolution), Quality point person for North American Supply Chain Leadership Team. Key role in Global Quality leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the Region’s strategic direction (vision and strategy) taking decisions on key strategic issues (working closely with the NA Global Supply Chain Leadership Team)
  • Accountable for Quality function through setting targets and managing individual, functional and contractor performance
  • Work with Global Quality to ensure the direction of the North American organization is aligned with global strategy.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated, well-trained, effective, and highly motivated function across BUs and countries (US & Canada).
  • Own and deliver on Regional Quality targets and KPIs
  • Play a role in major contract negotiations working closely Procurement and Finance
  • Set the style and direction for relationships with key external and internal customers
  • Champion change management activities within the team to continually improve the efficiency and Quality of contract manufacturing execution
  • Deliver operational objectives in line with business targets, review KPI performance against targets and drive a culture of strong performance management ensuring employees are motivated to realize their potential and achieve business objectives
  • Ensure that the Quality of suppliers is acceptable in accordance with Regional HQ and Global policy
  • Ensure basic Quality requirements are met when selecting and operating with 3PMs and suppliers
  • Act as First Point of Contact in Region for all Quality related matters (Global, Regional and Local) including liaison with GSC and Global RD&E
  • Lead Regional policy and strategy development in line with Global / Corporate directives as well as to coordinate Quality activities in the Region and across Platform
  • Establish a Regional Quality Council consisting of Regional Quality personnel and empower through shared DBO’s / MBO’s

Required Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Chemistry or related area
  • 10+ years of experience in Quality and related disciplines

Preferred Experiences And Skills

  • Manufacturing experience in FMCG, Pharma, Device or Food industry
  • Operational Quality experience
  • Experience Shaping Strategy and Global Perspective
  • Financial Acumen
  • Quality credentials / certifications

Job Requirements

  • Travel up to 20% within North America
  • Remote work available once a week
  • This position is eligible for domestic relocation
