The Director of Operations Retail will hold a central role in the supervision and management of up to 10 retail stores within our organization. Beyond store management, this position will be a proactive contributor to the development and execution of strategic initiatives for our entire Colorado retail division. Beyond store management, this position will be a proactive contributor to the development and execution of strategic initiatives for our entire Colorado retail division. This includes spearheading efforts to drive sales growth, elevate customer satisfaction, and uphold profitability standards across all stores.
Major Functions
Store Operations Management (40%)
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve financial and operational goals for each retail location.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Store Directors, ensuring they meet and exceed their store-specific targets.
- Monitor store performance, address operational challenges, and optimize processes to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee inventory management, pricing strategies, and product selection to meet sales objectives.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain consistent store operations across the region.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate Store Directors and their teams to create a culture of excellence and customer service.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to retail staff, focusing on product knowledge, sales techniques, and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and set individual and team performance standards.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure effective hiring and staffing for all stores.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and store-specific KPIs to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan product allocation, merchandising, and promotional strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations across all retail locations.
- Monitor and manage the budget, expenses, and financial performance of the retail department.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Proven retail management experience, preferably in cannabis.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience working in the cannabis industry and knowledge of cannabis industry compliance and regulations is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active MED badge in Colorado.
- 5 years of retail experience, including:
- Managing 2 or more stores or departments
- P&L responsibility
- Inventory management
- Operations
- Customer service
- 5 years of management experience, including:
- Leading teams of 6 or more employees
- Strong emphasis on leadership and communication skills
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel required within the region as needed to support store operations.
