WHERE YOU FIT IN

The Director, Indirect Sales is responsible for managing strategic Broker & Consultant accounts at a national level, maximizing all opportunities for sales to achieve P&L goals determined by Management Team. This position will be responsible for marketing Shell Energy conventional power products and renewables solutions.

Reporting into the Sr. Sales Manager, the role requires self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage broker sales, relationships, and customer contracts
  • Achieves sales goals determined by Management Team
  • Manages existing broker relationships and sales processes
  • Monitors performance of broker network and improves key sales metrics of assigned brokers
  • Identifies high potential brokers and grows company’s business share of the brokers Review, evaluate, prepare, and respond to requests for bids and RFPs
  • Point person in pre-deal contract negotiations. Manage changes and resolve special contract issues for large customer accounts during the term of an agreement
  • Responsible for coordinating with Sales Support, Pricing, Credit, Trading, legal, and other internal teams
  • Manages changes in large customer contracts and accounts
  • Resolves special contract issues for large customer accounts
  • Helps manage the interface with other internal departments in the resolution of retail business issues as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 4 - 8 years in retail sales
  • In depth knowledge of the power and renewable energy market dynamics, retail products, related component breakdown as they relate to ERCOT, ISONE, NYISO and PJM
  • Experience in selling and working knowledge of energy related services, i.e. wind, solar, onsite generation, demand response, energy efficiencies, etc.
  • Must be able to present integrative solutions to customers bringing all energy and energy related services together
  • Comprehensive understanding of business rules and operations, with heavy focus on ERCOT, ISONE, NYISO and PJM
  • Good communication skills, written and oral, for example ensuring assigned Brokers are kept informed of any delays in turning around pricing requests, or outlining the rationale behind a decision not to approve credit for a customer.
  • Commercial mindset, demonstrate ability to problem solve and create practical solutions to overcome problems and mitigate risks.
  • Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-changing environment, and able to respond to changing business needs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook and strong Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
  • Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge
  • Ability to meet deadlines, learn quickly and demonstrate effective problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Strong industry network in the power and/or renewable energy sectors
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Flexible, creative, and able to adapt to new circumstances

LOCATION & WORK SCHEDULE

  • Required to be in-person in Houston, TX through a hybrid workplace environment
