Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position Details
Position Purpose
This position oversees information technology for the school of medicine. This includes coordinating efforts with information systems overseen by University Technology Services; systems overseen by the OUWBSM exclusive clinical partner (Corewell Health) in clinical training sites; vendor supported systems; and systems developed and maintain by school of medicine IT staff. The position also oversees the technology distributed to medical students.

Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in complex information systems environment plus two (2) year’s of supervisory/management experience.
- In depth knowledge of database management systems, operating systems, system development tools, network operations and information security.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical and written and oral communication skills.
- Excel at project management with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
- Ability to work effectively with department heads, university information technology leadership, clinical partner leadership.
- Experience with budgeting, technical proposal reviews, vendor management and IT procurement.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Previous experience with a School of Medicine including knowledge of core systems such as Amp, Banner, Oasis, and Empower.
- Experience managing the distribution and maintenance of laptops, iPads and technology to students, faculty and staff.
- Experience with an Apple operating environment.
- Vision for effective email, data store and web design strategies.
- Experience with IT tools such as Argos, JAMF , Power BI, etc.
