We are offering a unique opportunity for an interim Divisional/Plant Controller. The role involves directing the financial affairs of the organization, preparing financial analyses, and managing the plant's financial plans, controls, and policies. Responsibilities
Collaborate with staff members to make plant-level decisions.
Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to monitor operating results in terms of profitability and performance against budget.
Manage the preparation of financial reports, monthly forecasts, and annual profit plans.
Maintain surveillance on inventories and plant performance in relation to established objectives and report any variances.
Manage all accounting activities involved in billing, accounts payable, payroll, capital assets, general ledger, and standard costing systems.
Ensure all activities are in compliance with company established plant, group, and corporate policies and procedures.
Set goals and objectives for the department, determine action within policies required to meet those goals, and conduct training, development, counseling, and performance evaluation of department team members.
Initiate and maintain procedures, records, and reports relating to the financial management and methods of the plant.
Manage internal and external audit requests.
Maintain the accuracy of the financial analysis of the AR submissions.
Maintain standard costing and support corporate requests to ensure company's ability to comply with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley.
Manage IT and support operations/manufacturing activities to achieve production output, productivity, and employee satisfaction goals.
Requirements
Candidate must have a strong understanding of Controllership and Controllership Functions
Proficiency in General Accounting is required
Expertise in Cost Accounting is necessary
Prior experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting is desired
Knowledge of Standard Cost Accounting is essential
The candidate must have a strong background in Financial Reporting
Ability to work in a Divisional/Plant Controller role effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
Must be able to work collaboratively with other teams and departments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
Proficiency in using accounting software and other related tools is necessary
Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills
Should possess the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Understanding of industry laws and regulations is required
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA will be considered a plus.
