POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking a hospitality focused and organized individual to join our team as a Door Attendant. The Door Attendant is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming first impression to guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction from the moment they arrive at the establishment. This role involves greeting guests, assisting with luggage, and coordinating with other staff to ensure seamless guest experiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
All descriptions have been reviewed to ensure that only essential functions and basic duties have been included. Peripheral tasks, only incidentally related to each position, have been excluded. Requirements, skills, and abilities included have been determined to be the minimal standards required to successfully perform the positions. In no instance, however, should the duties, responsibilities, and requirements delineated be interpreted as all-inclusive. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate. Job descriptions are not intended as and do not create employment contracts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Warmly welcome all guests arriving at the hotel, opening doors, and providing a courteous and friendly greeting
- Help guests with their luggage upon arrival and departure, ensuring it is handled with care and delivered promptly
- Assist guests in arranging transportation, including taxis, shuttles, and valet services, and provide directions as needed
- Keep the entrance, lobby, and surrounding areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times
- Monitor and report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the appropriate personnel to ensure the safety of guests and staff
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring all issues are resolved to the guest's satisfaction
- Work closely with the front desk, bell services, and concierge teams to provide seamless guest service and support hotel operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry, is an asset
- Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor at all times in addition to remaining calm during periods of heavy business volumes
- Ability to answer the entrance telephone and provide clear and accurate information to guests and employees
- The ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions, facilities, and services
- Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to lift and carry heavy luggage and other items, sometimes up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in various weather conditions as needed
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the hotel’s needs
