Under the general supervision of the Head Counselor, the DUI Counselor is trained and educated in all phases of alcoholism and counseling techniques, including the ability to function as a group leader or instructor.
Reports to: DUI Program Manager II
Qualifications
Trained and/or educated in all phases of alcoholism and counseling techniques, including ability to facilitate group sessions, conduct alcohol education classes and conduct one-to-one counseling sessions with clients.
High school graduate with additional courses in alcohol counseling and/or a minimum of two years of experience in the alcohol/drug counseling field.
If recovering from alcohol/drug abuse, a minimum of two years sobriety is required.
Knowledge of the problems associated with alcoholism.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings and/or Saturday mornings.
Must be Alcohol and Drug Counselor Registered/Certified.
