We're looking for a dynamic and adaptable Accountant to join our team and support small nonprofit organizations. This role is crucial in assisting organizations that are dedicated to serving their local communities. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Controller and CFO to deliver exceptional accounting services to a diverse range of nonprofit clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing outstanding service and handling a variety of tasks from creating journal entries to defining bookkeeping policies.
  • Work closely with our internal team to adjust client engagements and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Become a QuickBooks expert, utilizing your knowledge to address issues and suggest improvements for clients.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain a chart of accounts for accurate and timely financials.
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Prepare client invoices, manage accounts receivable, and oversee the collections process.
  • Execute month-end closing entries.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements and other requested schedules.
  • Manage the annual budget, track variances, and report significant issues.
  • Process client payroll and ensure accurate ledger entries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop/Online or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit accounting or a strong interest in learning.
