EA Coach

Oceans New York, NY

Oceans is rapidly becoming the partner of choice for high-growth companies looking to smartly build their teams and profitably scale their businesses. As global distributed workforces proliferate, Oceans stands apart with its unique ‘embedded talent’ model and its differentiated talent pool based in Sri Lanka.

We’re looking for experienced Executive Assistants, motivated by helping others to succeed, to act as Coaches for our Sri- Lanka based EAs (“EA+ Divers”) as they navigate the high seas of the role for the first time.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new and ambitious company that’s already profitable and successful, in a dynamic role that doesn't exist anywhere else.

Position - EA Coach

If you've ever been in need of a ‘Dive Buddy’ in your career as an Assistant or Chief of Staff, this is your chance to give back.

You’ll provide live knowledge and support to our EAs who are currently in-market with clients, answering ad hoc questions about everything from U.S. cultural differences to location-specific travel bookings to how to navigate software. You are the sounding board for any administrative, operational, or relational queries our EAs may have during the course of their day.

As you know, the role of an EA can be demanding in many ways — so you'll also provide emotional and motivational support when necessary, life-coaching them on reframes and mindset shifts to further their impact at work.

You'll help your assigned EAs solve challenging problems, unlock scaling issues, and invent new workflows from scratch. Leading from behind, you'll work closely to improve their tactics and transform them into the most proactive and predictive Assistants they can be.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a dedicated group of assigned EAs for a defined period to guide them in their day to day work Lead live virtual 1:1 coaching calls and monitor Slack for urgent queries
  • Review work product for quality and attention to detail ahead of submission to Clients
  • Document and track performance of assigned Divers in Google Tables
  • Ensure seamless Diver integration and increase overall Client feedback ratings
  • Collaborate with our Client Success Team to improve Client and Diver experience
  • Establish and implement new processes and workflows to creatively scale Oceans’ Coaching Program

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working as an Executive Assistant or Chief of Staff Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Proven track record of excelling in support roles to effect change behind the scenes Extreme integrity and inherent willingness to go above and beyond
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards in everything you do
  • Permanent residency in the US, UK, or Canada
  • Morning availability in your timezone

Our Ideal Coaches Are...

  • Self-starters with a high level of autonomy
  • Mentors at heart, excited to share everything they know
  • Flexible and can adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Highly tech-savvy, with experience using many tools
  • Strong relationally, projecting thoughtfulness and vulnerability Genuine and approachable; can listen without judgment Experienced in working for a highly particular or demanding boss Interested in being part of a mission bigger than themselves
