Job Description
he philosophy of KIDS FIRST LEARNING CENTER is based upon our belief that children move through stages of development based on their knowledge and experiences. Children’s cognitive, linguistic and social-emotional learning occurs through their interaction with adults and peers and through the use of challenging materials. We believe that children must have positive self-concepts to become competent learners.
Our staff reflects high standards for educational excellence. It is our goal to prepare the child for success in later learning years. We strive for “Kindergarten Readiness”. The Center’s Teachers are certified by the State Commission on Teacher Credentialing or have completed Early Child Development courses, which are requirements that need to be met before becoming a Teacher. Teacher Aides assist teachers in providing a quality program for the children. The Program Director oversees the overall program and along with administration provides the leadership and support necessary to maintain our program’s high quality standards.
Qualifications:
Lead Teacher applicants, must have a minimum of 24 Child Development units and 16 general education college units in the four study fields; posses or in the process of obtaining a Child Development Teacher permit from Calif. Teacher Credentialing. Associate Teacher applicants must have a minimum of 12 Child Development units and posses or in the process of obtaining a Child Development permit from Calif. Teacher Credentialing. Applicants must have TB testing, fingerprint and background clearance, ability to work as an educator with children ages 0 through 5 years in an indoor and out door environment. Bilingual (Spanish) and prior experience working with children is a plus! Applicants must be willing to work in the, San Fernando, Pacoima, Sylmar, N. Hollywood area.
