Economics Adjunct
Position Overview
Note: Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct Faculty provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
College/Department Overview
The College of Business has 76 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 13 undergraduate majors serving more than 2,500 students, and 2 graduate programs serving more than 100 students combined. The faculty and staff of the College are committed to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in support of our efforts to prepare students to become productive, ethical, and engaged citizens and business leaders, while promoting commerce and advancing the quality of life in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Department Specific Essential Job Functions
University of Central Oklahoma, Dept. of Economics, invites applications for adjunct positions to teach principles of microeconomics, macroeconomics, business statistics, and other related economics courses.
A master’s degree in Economics or an MBA, with relevant working and teaching experience, or a doctorate in Economics is required. Teaching experience is preferred. Online teaching experience may also be preferred for certain classes.

Experience Required:
Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Master's or PhD degree in Economics. Other master's degrees considered. Must have either current professional experience or current academic research in economics to be considered. Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
