JOB TITLE: Editor

Lincoln Learning Solutions is seeking an Editor to join its Curriculum Development team. The hire will play a key role in editing content and learning activities for Lincoln Learning Solutions courses. The selected candidate must have a working knowledge of up-to-date editing best practices, ensuring correct grammar, spelling, word choice, and punctuation. The candidate must be comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams, drawing upon their professional background and expertise to edit and proofread curriculum content for both online and offline platforms, ensure all content adheres to the highest standards, collaborate with developers and others to maintain consistency and quality across all materials, and provide constructive feedback in an effort to improve Lincoln Learning Solutions courses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in English/Writing, English Education, or a related field

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Docs

Experience with editing online/virtual content

Child Abuse Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check; and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Edit online content and learning activities for EK–12 curriculum development to ensure correct grammar, spelling, word choice, punctuation, etc. This may include curriculum content for parents, teachers, or students.

Ensure that the voice, audience, and details are appropriate for the goal of the content and that content is clear, concise, and comprehensible.

Edit primarily math and science content while completing editing duties as needed in other subject areas including electives and world languages. Knowledge of a second language is preferred but not required.

Maintain a working knowledge of up-to-date editing best practices, an in-house style guide, and MLA and Chicago style.

Manage workload and display self-discipline and motivation to ensure content is error-free and meets style guidelines and task deadlines.

Communicate effectively with the secondary editing lead and other editors to ask pertinent questions and clarify content

Perform any additional duties deemed necessary by Lincoln Learning Solutions management.

Promote the vision and mission of Lincoln Learning Solutions.
