Electrical Design Engineer (Onsite)

We are looking for a mid-level electrical design engineer. Tasks will focus on embedded hardware design and development. We are a dynamic and growing small business, so our ideal candidate needs to be comfortable jumping between a variety of technologies and tasks, ranging from design of components in an office environment to field testing of prototype hardware.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design of embedded control systems (8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit microcontrollers), analog sensor interfaces, RF communication interfaces
• Hands on assembly, integration, testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies
• Circuit card fabrication and assembly, soldering through hole and fine pitch surface mount components
• Wire Harnesses fabrication: solder cup and crimp style connections, must be able to work independently from documentation
• Ability to use basic laboratory test equipment to test and diagnose electrical assemblies
• Willingness to learn and understand the functionality of electronic assemblies to support prototype development and troubleshooting

Requirements

Necessary Skills and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
• Experience: 5+ years of applicable electrical engineering and design experience
• Clearance: Must be able to obtain at least SECRET level clearance after hire for work with national security clients
• Experience with electronics schematic design and printed wiring board layout, specifically using Altium Designer CAD software package
• Ability to use basic laboratory test equipment to test and diagnose electrical assemblies
• The ability to obtain a US government security clearance post start date.
• U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Ability to travel
