Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into design
- Prepare technical drawings, specs of electrical systems to ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
- Design, implement, maintain and/or improve electrical instruments, equipment, or systems. Update and/or develop new engineering standards to support current or new software
- Redesign standard systems, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs
- Begin the process of building a database of drawings into Solidworks
- Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements
- Establish and maintain a parametric bill of materials for system interface with material management and planning software
- Prepare specifications for purchase of material and/or equipment
- Act as a technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales force, assisting in addressing and resolving problems
- Travel to job sites to resolve problems (on occasion)
- Convert high usage Anvil parts/drawings to Solidworks
- Participate on cross-functions teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods
- Act as a technical resource for product field support of customers, service personnel and field sales force, assisting in addressing and resolving problems
- Perform other tasks as required. Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to the duties listed on this job description
- Circuit design knowledge preferred
- TIA Portal or RS Logix experience a plus
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 and UL 508A
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills – ability to review relevant information and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Critical thinking – Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approach to problems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, ERP, object-oriented development software
- Experience with AutoCad and SolidWorks required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience. Great opportunity for an experienced panel builder who wants to do more design work
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion
- Ability to climb ladders 10-15 feet on occasion
- Ability to reach above shoulders, kneel or crouch for short periods of time
