Job Description
This position oversees projects involved in developing, coordinating, and reviewing the design, modification, and evaluation of intricate hardware devices, PCB design, and/or systems, ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, and performance objectives.
Responsibilities
Electrical design encompasses power supply selection and design, microcontrollers/monitoring, interconnect/cabling, environmental controls (cooling/heating), backplanes, and integration of customer hardware and software.
This involves hardware and embedded software design using PIC microcontrollers, and a keen understanding of the customer's hardware.
The role includes providing customer assistance, interfacing with clients, and supporting manufacturing and sales departments by preparing quotes, test specifications, production documents, and other project-related reports.
Design work adheres to the latest Safety & EMI/EMC directives, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
Additionally, the position involves maintaining professional and technical knowledge, serving as the primary contact to outside vendors in RFPs, quotations, and contract negotiations/development, documenting actions, compiling project status reports, and presenting them to management.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
The role necessitates a minimum of 10 years of design experience or equivalent work experience aligned with the aforementioned responsibilities.
Proficiency in PCB and schematic capture design is expected, along with familiarity with hardware and embedded software design.
Knowledge of microprocessors, specifically Intel and Motorola, is essential.
The projects involved are diverse and typically demand considerable originality and ingenuity, requiring a high degree of creativity, independence, and multitasking capability.
The ability to work in both laboratory and manufacturing environments is a prerequisite.
The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and highly analytical.
