  • Supporting existing product lines after initial development is done
  • Redesigning products to address component changes and shortages (spec-ing out alternative components)
  • Investigation and troubleshooting of component failures
  • Working with suppliers and other teams

Job Description

  • Work on a cross-functional team of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and technicians to support on-going engineering need of existing products.
  • Apply your knowledge of electrical/analog/power electronics engineering fundamentals to do circuit analysis, component qualification, bench testing to support existing products in the field or production issues.
  • Hands-on prototyping and circuit evaluation using soldering irons, oscilloscopes, and other electrical test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Specify and documents components for new and existing designs - resistors, capacitors, transistors, ICs, transformers
  • Coordinate across many functional areas of Lutron including Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Operations to resolve issues to keep production building quality product.

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Power electronics, analog circuit design, digital hardware design experience
  • Hands-on experience - oscilloscopes, soldering, breadboards, PCB layouts
  • Circuit analysis and troubleshooting
  • Experience with simulation/modeling tools like P-Spice, Matlab
  • RF experience- nice to have
  • Ability to develop test plans and lead design reviews effectively
  • Communicate clearly and network across many functional areas
