Responsibilities:

  • Design: Develop control systems for electric motors used in overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Application: Utilize specifications for Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters.
  • Support: Contribute to all stages of product development engineering activities.
  • Calculations: Determine wire sizes and overload protection for cranes operating up to 800V DC and 4160V AC.
  • Problem Resolution: Address manufacturing issues by collaborating with engineers and technicians.
  • Drawings: Create single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings.
  • Component Specification: Size and specify components and BOMs based on industry standards and vendor information.
  • Design Improvement: Offer suggestions for design enhancements to improve functionality or reduce costs.
  • Circuit Modification: Adjust and improve existing circuit designs as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams on control system design.
  • Documentation: Prepare connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
  • Field Support: Travel to sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Experience with Electrical Design and Motor Controls.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2016 or Zuken E3.
  • Knowledge of PLC & HMI Programming.
  • Familiarity with NEC Electrical Code.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD programming.
